Rough River Kentucky fly-in is over and it's time to head back home to Chicago Aurora and get to the kids, Jaime and work. This was a nice VFR (visual flight rules) flight back home and was smooth until I descended into the Chicago area. The winds were gusting over 30 knots with a crosswind. Required a lot of yoke movement on short final but I was able to find the runway. :) Also follow me on: Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/310Pilot Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/310_pilot/ Website/Store - https://www.310pilot.net Headsets by: https://www.lightspeedaviation.com/product/zulu-3-anr-headset/?utm_source=310pilot&utm_medium=site Maintenance by: TAS Aviation; 419.658.4444; https://tas-aviation.com For more information on the autopilot: https://stec3100.genesys-aerosystems.com/310pilot/ Music by: https://soundcloud.com/davidhydemusic/hip-hop-rap-beat-piano-and https://soundcloud.com/davidhydemusic/piano-rock-instrumental This video is for entertainment purposes only and is not intended as instruction in any way. @bobkd5fjd823منذ 3 سنوات I loved Chicago when I was working there. Worked just across from Northwestern Memorial Hospital on East Huron at VA Hospital. Lived in Lombard and drove id="hidden2" class="buttons"> in first year then decided to take the Metro train for other 2 years before transferred to Louisiana VA Hospital where I finally retired 5 years later. Loved being like 4-5 blocks off Michigan Avenue great eateries in that area as well. But I’ll always remember my Chicago Dogs as best hot dog in the world and Chicago Pizza likewise will be awfully tough to beat. Made a lot of friends in the area as well. Found your channel by accident about 6 months ago and have been enjoying since. Calm winds!! ....وسعت 1

@knightwolf200612منذ 2 سنوات Great video. And specially concidering the windy conditions, that landing looked so easy with you on the joke! The amount of input you had to give looked like a fight against nature haha. Well done!

@garyb8528منذ 3 سنوات I will never forget my first few crosswind landings. Just horrible. But it is amazing how practice helps and eventually I didn’t think much about them as the became so natural I learned to fly on a 172 but after I got my ticket, I bought a Piper Archer III. I guess it was the low wing, but crosswinds were much easier to handle.I really enjoy your channel and the videos. ....وسعت

@tompinnef6331منذ 3 سنوات Nice landing - wasn't easy with those winds. Missed Oshkosh again - this care giver couldn't make it this year. @wallyman292منذ 3 سنوات It's great that you have the back camera on a gimbal. It really shows what you're dealing with! Used to watch "Deadliest Catch" back id="hidden13" class="buttons"> in the day, and that was one of my biggest complaints. They'd be in huge seas, but with a static camera, you couldn't really tell. ....وسعت

@jokeeffe007منذ 3 سنوات Thanks for including the call for fuel. Ground support needs a callout as well. The landing was just fine. Not a passenger pleaser but down the center and you only landed once.
  • @
@treedocmi2389منذ 3 سنوات Always entertaining. Enjoy the ride-a-longs in something I’ll probably never do!
Perhaps you can find an old camera and shoot some of the turbulence without image stabilization- just for a few seconds- so we get a sense for the bumps!! ....وسعت

@robertwren2289منذ 3 سنوات I hope you get your Oshkosh video out next week, a month is a bit too long to wait. I've been watching live every day. @chaddthompsonمنذ 3 سنوات The day I did my PPL check ride winds were 20G30 but was only about 10° off the runway. I was nervous for sure but my flight instructor had me up on some pretty windy days on purpose so I knew what to do but was still nervous. Was a super bumpy day but not too much xwind and I made it through. ....وسعت

@mattbasford6299منذ 3 سنوات I really never worry about flying a single engine with no chute. Maybe a little at night, but life is about managing acceptable risk. As far as OCD, I've never really been that way. I'm pretty laid back when flying.
  • @
@KyleSchmidtمنذ 3 سنوات Uploading a video during Oshkosh! Haha we all appreciate it but hope you're enjoying Oshkosh as well!

@romiemiller7876منذ 3 سنوات Chicago is aptly nicknamed the Windy City. And, it's the only city I know where the wind blows down all four sides of buildings the same. And it's COLD in Winter.
  • @
@redbull8661منذ 3 سنوات It seems like if there's a crosswind somewhere you'll find it. lol Excellent job though!

@davidfrench5407منذ 3 سنوات I always had thoughts/questions about the 310 having those small seatbacks! All my front seat time has been in a 58 Baron, which has pretty high seatbacks. But really narrow, too.

@jeffreyberube7812منذ 3 سنوات Hey Kevin (at least I think that’s your name)
Anyway, I wanted to ask have you ever had the chance to sit in the cockpit of a jet airliner and how much more training would you have to undertake for your license ?
    Your videos are addicting !
    Thanks man, Jeffrey
