It's been a wet day in Nairobi, however, that doesn't deter most of the rescued orphan elephants in our care from rushing in for their 3pm milk feed and a roll in the mud! Join them, with their carers, as our Head Keeper Edwin introduces the babies and shares their reasons for needing our help. You can learn more about each of the elephants, and even support their care through an adoption, at https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/ophans Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. But we do much more than this. Through our Aerial, Anti-Poaching and Mobile Veterinary Units, we safeguard the natural environment and provide immediate assistance to wild animals in need. We also secure irreplaceable wilderness areas so that animals will always have space to roam and work with local partners and communities to ensure people and wildlife can live alongside one another. @ss-nc2dy4 years ago You guys should maybe consider placing a video overnight in one of the baby's rooms so people can watch how the babies wake up and sleep at night. I saw on youtube a video where you guys showed some overnight moments of the calf waking a very groggy keeper up in the middle of the night for a feeding. Seems like precious moments. You're all doing god's work. ... 6

@terryozga92564 years ago Do the elephants age 2 plus nurse from their mothers in the wild? you say that you feed them milk every 3 hour as orphans. Does this happens also in the wild? 1
