@Mom-wife5قبل 6 أشهر As a mama to 5 I didn’t really take much when I went to the hospital with 4 of them and my 5th I had at home. One thing I will tell you is that if you wanna take it then take it ❤ there is nothing wrong with having extra. In worlds of my father inlaw “ I would rather be looking at it then for it “ ❤❤ ....وسعت 21

@kaylacollier3268قبل 6 أشهر 3rd time mama pregnant with our 3rd and I think you did an awesome job packing! Even with this being my 3rd time I’m bringing almost all the same stuff bc I like to have options and honestly you never know what kind of baby your baby will be! 1 thing I will say is you will definitely do alot of skin to skin with baby so when you were saying you don’t know what to expect as far as dressing her just expect lots of skin to skin and bringing your breast pump is great for a first time mom bc they can teach you have to use it and also make sure the flange fits your nips perfectly lol but other than that the hospital will provide all your healing essentials like demaplast, tucks pads etc and then you’ll want those at home as well so you’re double stocked even though you can bring everything from the hospital home! So excited for you guys ....وسعت 16

@stephaniem.5924قبل 6 أشهر Momma of 4 here; Advice, you won't get your actual milk supply until a few days after. They get the liquid gold at first aka colostrum. You definitely id="hidden3" class="buttons"> won't need the pump but of course completely up to you ❤❤. No judgement at all ❤. Disposable diapers from Frieda are amazing!!! The peri bottle from Frieda mom is amazing. Also just the whole Frieda mom vaginal after care must have! The cooling sensation from the pads is phenomenal. You absolutely won't need any of the hair tools other than a brush BUT once again up to you . They supply everything you need for baby take her blanket, swaddle and outfit for pics ❤❤. But diapers and wipes are not needed at all. And you get to take all the diapers and wipes in y'all's room ....وسعت 161

@carleyclift1910قبل 6 أشهر Congratulations silent follower here. Not a mom, but I’ve heard people suggest to bring a document folder to put all the documents you get at the hospital. @user-ko3gn5xj7iقبل 6 أشهر Mama of 2! Bring all the things if it helps you feel the peace you need going into this moment. I recommend bringing a folder of some sort to put all documents id="hidden6" class="buttons"> in to keep them safe and all in one place, socks, hats, baby mittens because they will want to be as warm as possible! Also, something that I didn’t know my first time but is quality info is to be careful wearing anything scented because baby girl can be sensitive to the scents & also didn’t know that babies can be allergic to flowers so I asked everyone to wait to send any floral arrangements lol congratulations & good luck! ....وسعت 3

@kristinapugh9444قبل 6 أشهر Highly recommend bringing an extra long charger for both of you! Also, and a L&D nurse, I typically advise against wearing your gown for labor because id="hidden8" class="buttons"> 1. It’s going to get suuuuper dirty during delivery and then your stuck putting that in your bag for 2-3 days before you take it home to wash and 2. IF you were to need an emergency c-section for some reason, the metal buttons are a burn risk due to the instruments we use in the OR, and getting that gown off is just one more step to complete in an emergency situation that adds time to us getting your baby out safely and quickly! ....وسعت 28

During labor you can get hot flashes and the fan is 10/10. id="hidden9" class="buttons"> We had to pull up YouTube videos of white noise on our phones and it helped a TON.
You won’t stop staring at baby but try to get some rest. Also don’t stress about milk production in the hospital just latch and your body will do the rest ♥️. You got this!!

@sheenatalks8529قبل 6 أشهر I'd suggest you bring the backpack even if you leave it in the car. When I had my babies whenever people came to visit they brought gifts and having id="hidden18" class="buttons"> an extra bag to bring the gifts home in was SO helpful!! Congratulations on baby girls upcoming arrival, good luck to you all!!! ❤
ETA: also a nightlight/battery lamp was so helpful for me for the night feeds so I didn't have to turn on the bright room lights (and for the nurses too who visit like every hour) so my hubs and/or baby didn't wake up so much

We kept baby dressed in the hospital for temp purposes. We went through a lot of bamboo sleepers in that first 24 id="hidden22" class="buttons"> hours. @blessedmamabyjesusقبل 6 أشهر Hey Sophia
I'm a mom of 2 pretty girlies. You're doing an amazing job of making sure you are prepared. It's so precious to watch you id="hidden29" class="buttons"> and Taylor prepare. It brings back such sweet memories to me. The only thing that I can think of that you may need is a pillow or something soft to sit on for the ride home. You'll more than likely not need a second one, but in the event that there is a c section, a second pillow for your tummy so the seat belt isn't up again at you. Those things can stay in the car until the drive home, but it sure does help. I had both of my girls by c section. Obviously natural is good, but I just want you to know that if a c section needs to happen it's not as scary as you probably think. Just give yourself grace no matter what and remember to allow yourself to be cared for as well. Don't try to be a super woman. Take things slow and easy. Grace is a must for all moms and dads of every stage. Y'all have got this!!! God's hand is on the both of you and baby girl.

@destaneemassie6702قبل 6 أشهر Just some advice!!! I wore the hospital pad for a day and hated it. Switched to diapers and it was the best thing ever!!! Definitely chose diapers! It is definitely less irritable and very comfortable
  • @
@roxygirl0411قبل 6 أشهر Hii! Momma of two! One thing that someone else told me to bring & was really helpful was some coconut oil. The baby’s first poos actually harden & can harden on their butt, when wiping it can hurt their little bums. If you put some coconut oil on their butts, the poop doesn’t harden on them & is easy to wipe off. I know it’s gross but it just made me feel so much better because my babies were more comfortable!! 10/10 recommend. Good luck! You got this!
Also, the nail file is great to have. My baby came out with longer nails & the hospital refused to cut them because it’s a liability so I was stressed the whole time I was there with him cutting his face!

From what I experienced though. I brought what I was going to wear for the first day or two. So 2 lounge sets and travel shampoo conditioner toothpaste and toothbrush couple hair ties, head band, jacket, blanket, pillow, my cup obviously HEAD PHONES TRUST ME!!! ESPECIALLY WHILE YOU WAIT MUSIC CAN REALLY HELP WITH THE NERVES. I also had my "lucky charm" which was an elephant necklace that my mom bought me when she found out she was going to be a first time Gigi. I kept it up and DIDN'T WEAR IT TIL THE NIGHT I GAVE BIRTH ON. I dint honestly use a razor or shaving cream really didn't care but you will be able to shower when you have baby looks won't matter to you honestly I thought I would have done my makeup too but it really was a waste of space in my bag.
As far as the can and cannots.
My hospital only allowed 1 person in the room which fine for me because of the situation I was in with the father wasn't safe, which I openly talked to my Dr and nurse who then at that time took every possible measure for me, the baby alarm plus an extra, I had a safe word/statement he wouldn't have known if needed, also they kept extra security on my floor and went by my birth plan. We weren't allowed cameras preferably but they gave for me lol, also they preferred no jewelry for an Incase measure, no snacks. Prior to delivery. And a few other very minor things.
For my daughter I brought a couple blankets a couple PJs and a take home outfit. Diapers, wipes her elephant head sooth blanket , mittens, socks, car seat, baby powder and lotion and my own baby wash for her first bath. I also brought her hair brush and headband bow and nail kit and nose sucker, and a couple binkies. Only thing I wish I had done differently for her is I wish I had packed a premie outfit as an Incase measure because she did come out small than expected and she was swallowed whole by the original outfit.
As for the Birth plan, it is not really needed but I know when I am overwhelmed happy or sad that I zone easily so I did make one for day of and following and for my birth plan it was basically the dos and don'ts. It was basically stating like I want her to stay in my room not be taken to the nursey, I wanted to give first bath, which extra shots I did or didn't want her to have, if I wanted the option to have the supplies they have as an extra Incase measure, who I wanted to cut cord and I wanted direct and immediate skin to skin after she came so on. Also I had my medical issues on it as well for example I have rh factor blood so I and baby needed to be given rogham asap after delivery, I have anemia, ulcers and cyst that way it was something they knew was important. So when I met my Dr and nurses I gave it to them and obviously we went over everything to ensure that's what I wanted and that they understood they kept 4 full copies (for my chart , white board, and for delivery nurses and doctor and for the lobby nurses) and I got the original back for her baby box they also would put motivational messages on the white board for I and baby girl anytime a new nurse or doctor came in and it really made me feel welcomed and cared for. And the delivery doctor was kind enough to even take a picture with Addilyn Leigh after she was delivered and that meant alot to her she was recognized and to I to have that memory captured.
Side story the delivery doctor I had btw . Ooof, it was her first day and my daughter was her first ever delivery and though I was nervous let me tell you. TMI if it is but she was wonderful very encouraging, nice, and very well taught I didn't tear or anything and my delivery was short and sweet. She did use a method which she said she recommended and I obviously put my trust in her so I allowed it basically she too a bowl of hot/warm water, and a washcloth and through the delivery contractions and pushes she would have the warm rag and use it as a muscle relaxer in a way which in turn really worked and didn't cause me to tear. Which don't be afraid of you do you will heal and recover from it that I promise I have 2 sister that have delivered and had a tear or two one was actually pretty bad but she was offered consults for the mental health part of it for her personally and it was because she was so small of a person body type wise is what caused it.
I do recommend pictures of and when possible of mom and baby and dad and baby and even all together. I recommend a picture of the weigh station that she gets weighed on when delivered because it will capture everything in one picture. The one at my hospital had the date and time of delivery, weight and height & her name. All on screen.
Keep your faith, pray when needed, be open and communicate and everything is going to be fine. Congratulations again y'all if I think of anything else I will comment again but I hope this helps some even though I ranted a little‍♀️

@rebeccaswinford54قبل 6 أشهر One thing that I didn't see in your bag is pretty essential u will love it it's the Frieda mom kit it has the cooling vaginal pads that are absolutely id="hidden60" class="buttons"> incredible after delivery especially if any tearing they also have the peri bottle and cooling sprayect the Frieda mom kit is a must it will help you alot. The hosp will provide some but I found having the frieda one was much better then the hosp stuff. You won't get your full milk supply in for a few days but l u Cld still take your pump. You packed great.. can't wait for baby girl to get here!! ❤ ....وسعت

@emilycreasy5982قبل 6 أشهر I had my first son back in February and I brought sooo many things but all I ended up using was his home outfit, my home outfit (I stayed in the hospital id="hidden61" class="buttons"> gown the whole time) and the snacks I brought. BRING SNACKS AND DRINKS. TONS. If you get induced you can’t eat after a certain time so get full before you go!! And while you’re there if you can. Most of the time the hospital will provide you with diapers, wipes, baby blankets, and everything for mom. The hospital even gave me free formula bc my breastmilk hadn’t come in yet. You’re doing great mama!❤️ ....وسعت

@mborden1980قبل 6 أشهر Mom of 3, cesarean births. I only brought toiletries, and coming to and going home clothes for myself. The hospital gowns are more comfortable than anything. id="hidden62" class="buttons"> They also have gowns with snaps for breastfeeding. I had to pump in the hosp with my 3rd baby bc he had to stay in the intermediate nursery bc of sugar issues. The hospital provided a pump for me to take pumped colostum to the nursery. Sleep flat at night in the dark room and send her to the nursery so you can rest. Take advantage of the resource that is the hospital so you can heal properly before going home. I prefered baby gowns, as they are so easy. My hospital fed me really well, meals and snacks, so I never needed to bring my own. ....وسعت

@allisonroy1395قبل 6 أشهر I am so excited for you!! I am also a first time mom and just delivered in October! I would buy the Depends disposable underwear and bring them to the id="hidden63" class="buttons"> hospital! The underwear and LARGE pad combo at the hospital is so uncomfortable. They are also wonderful to use when you get home from the hospital as you will continue to bleed.
    Wishing you all the best!!!❤❤

@timi2singقبل 6 أشهر Definitely bring the pump with you. I didn’t need it with my first, but with my second he was a month early and had trouble latching. My mom was able to bring my pump to me since we had a 3 day hospital stay and I was able to get my milk supply going without a successful latch from baby. ....وسعت

@AyliahJقبل 6 أشهر I don’t know if you have any of the Velcro swaddles, but they were a lifesaver for me in the hospital because I don’t know how to swaddle with a blanket. It was also a hassle with the blanket during the night when baby would need a diaper change. ....وسعت

@brookelawrence7829قبل 6 أشهر I packed pretty much everything you packed and I used it all! Minus the breast pump but I still packed it for my kids and will continue to pack it for id="hidden66" class="buttons"> my future births! Also take it from me, I’ve used every breast pump known to man and in my humble opinion the purple manual pump (Lainosh?) and spectra breast pump is the BEST duo! And Hakka is a must have as well! I use the spectra for my first couple pumps of the day that’s when I was most full and manual rest of the day. I do have Elvies and I reach for them at night when I need to pump but also want to sleep but suction is horrible wouldn’t advise for exclusive pumping. If your daughter is a good nurser then you won’t need to worry about pumping nearly as much as I do! ....وسعت
