@AyushRaj-rt6bb3 years ago The openers need to play aggressively and utilitise the powerplay better...I know they can but they are simply not used to doing this again and again...So problems arise in important matches...For eg, let's look at England..One opener Jason Roy's only job is to play aggressively in the powerplay without thinking about scoring big while the another opener Jos Butler looks to play deep( although he also can play aggressively) ... But the problem is both of our openers are naturally not aggressive in the powerplay..Both of them look to bat deep..I think this is an area of concern ... 16

@kinshuksinghania42893 years ago Not just Venky, even Kishan can also be developed as a finisher if there is no place for him in the top order since he is an attacking batsman and has the ability to hit big shots which is required in a finisher!!!
More importantly a good player can play at any position, it's not that he has to necessarily open batting. The tactics in the World Cup were really beyond my understanding why batting order needed to be altered to get Kishan in!!
The ides should be to pick the best players available and then make your team or batting line up around them. Players like Dhawan, Rohit, Kohli, Shaw, SK Yadav, Kishan, V Iyer, R Gaekwad should be the batting core of the squad.
KL Rahul, despite his recent IPL form, S Iyer, Mayank Agarwal don't make the cut for me because KL is just not consistent/reliable enough and Iyer and Agarwal lack good technique which was clearly demonstrated in Australia. ...
