Kayamandi residents' long wait for building materials

Kayamandi township residents in Stellenbosch are facing a double blow. On 6 April they lost their homes in a fire that destroyed 300 shacks. Since then they have been promised materials from the Human Settlements Department but many are still without a roof over their heads. Some have been able to get materials from the local municipality and friends. One resident still waiting for help has lived in the area since 1994.
