Rainbow Interlude - Mariah Carey / Lift Every Voice and Sing - arr. Craig Courtney

"Rainbow Interlude" by Mariah Carey serves the purpose to bridge together the general storyline I created for my recital. Here, I am expressing that during tough times, I will make it through the rain to happier days. I even added the previously unheard verse from my performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to help further this idea of persistence. ... I chose ​"Lift Every Voice and Sing" arranged by Craig Courtney because I felt this anthem was the perfect way to end my recital. Through this classic spiritual, I am saying no matter what hardship I face I will not be stopped in conquering my dreams! Fun fact: the song begins with "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" which is one of the songs used to audition into Ball State's School of Music!
